The Boys’ official social media handle announced the upcoming spinoff in a video. The tweet read, “Allow us to introduce ya to Gen V, The Boys college spinoff in the works with a brilliant bunch.” The clip featured all the cast members of Gen V, which includes Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lizzie Broadway, Chance Perdomo, London Thor, Asa Germann, Maddie Phillips, and Derek Luh.

Gen V is set to feature the teenage superheroes venturing their way through college, exploring the lives of hormonal and ambitious Supes. According to the source material, the show may be loosely based on Teenage Kix. In the comics, A-Train and Popclaw were members of the infamous teenage superhero club. Even though the show’s version differs significantly from the comics, something new and enjoyable is guaranteed.

Just like every superhero-based show, The Boys also features a team of heroes known as The Seven, a darker spoof of the Justice League largely controlled under the sinister organization Vought, which covers up all of the supes’ horrible actions. This embarks the Boys, a group of vengeance-seeking individuals eager to end the horrible crimes of supes.

The Boys became an instant hit since its debut, which focuses on themes such as violence, nudity, and a satire on celebrity society. The show is one of the few superhero-based featurettes that doesn’t hesitate to showcase a mockery of pretty much everything. The Boys’ ominous and provocative world reflects the what-if scenario of superheroes existing in reality.
