INDIA. Delhi. Gaurav Gupta is an entrepreneur and the president of Lions club Delhi veg. He is also the president of Rajasthan academy and the International Convenor of Indian Council for Human Relations.

He is also a philanthropist and has contributed to the betterment of society. His philanthropic ways have inspired many people.

It is often said that the service to needy people is the service to god. Gaurav Gupta is doing this every day and he is proving to be a role model for everyone.

Gupta’s personal life

Gupta is a philanthropist and belongs to a renowned and reputed business family of Delhi. His forefathers belonged from Sonipat, Haryana. The last three generations of his family have served for the society in various ways. They have been associated with Old Delhi’s Shree Dharmic Leela Committee.

They have also got the privilege to meet and greet the top leaders and spiritual gurus of India. He is the General Secretary of APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation. Gupta is working closely with school students, teachers, and underprivileged people of the society.

He is a proud father of 2 sons and a daughter. They all have done great in their respective fields. He has many titles in his kitty.

A man of many accomplishments

Gupta is a recipient of various awards and recognitions for his contributions. He has successfully run business of CDROM (Largest publisher and distributors of CD ROMs) in India. He was also associated with PM Publishers (Educational Publishing).

Gupta has led the education delegation to Liverpool, UK and NASA (USA). He has been conferred with several national and international awards. Gupta has won many accolades for his contributions to society. He was also conferred with an Award for Excellence in Diplomacy at the House of Commons in the Parliament of UK.

His dream is to create a world-class eco-friendly environment for everyone. Gupta has also organized many international as well as charity events.

He organized a felicitation programme for the new ambassador of Namibia, his excellency Gabriel P Sinimbo. The event took place at Taj Palace hotel Diplomatic Enclave New Delhi and it was a huge success.

When asked about his biggest accomplishment in life he said, “I don’t consider any of my work as my biggest accomplishment. I’m still working hard every day. The awards and achievements have been a motivation for me. They have inspired me to work better every time.”

He believes that balancing work with other priorities is difficult. But, if we have a passion for our work then things get a lot easier.

Talking to Transcontinental Times he said, “There are times when I have to attend 5-6 events in a single day. My passion for my work doesn’t make me feel tired. I enjoy the work that I am doing every day.”

A saviour for needy people during COVID-19 pandemic

Gupta has been a saviour for the poor people during this pandemic. He has helped people in various ways. He has set up kitchens and different centres to provide food to needy people. Gupta is also helping many hospitals and quarantine centres by providing masks, sanitizers, PPE kits etc.

He is deeply inspired by his father, Late Shri Kaushal Kumar Gupta. His father was also a philanthropist and a renowned social worker. He was always ready to help people who were in distress. Gupta has been working hard for the betterment and welfare of society. He is closely associated with several religious and social organizations.

These organizations are actively involved in social contributions. Many organizations recognised his contributions to society. He was conferred with COVID -19 warrior’s national award.

He also fought COVID-19 and came back stronger. Talking to Transcontinental Times he said, “I believe that when you are in this world you need to do something for the society. I love helping needy people. It is an internal satisfaction for me. My father has been my greatest inspiration. I have always tried to follow his footsteps.”

He further added that “This pandemic has taught me many things. I have learnt the importance of spending time with friends and family.”

His advice on mental health

Mental health has been taking a toll on everyone, especially during this pandemic. Gupta suggests that everyone should take care of their mental health during these trying times. People should try to stay connected with each other. Gupta believes that communication is very important during this pandemic. He constantly has been organizing webinars with the help of various organizations.

Moreover, He has also organized webinars on various important events like International environment day, charity day etc. Different types of competitions were held for people of all generations.

Gupta has also organized other webinars by keeping a special focus on mental health. He also arranged Bhagavad Gita webinar sessions.

Renowned guest speakers and spiritual gurus were invited in these sessions. They were asked to talk and explain about different verses of Bhagavad Gita.

Talking to Transcontinental Times he said, “The pandemic was unexpected. People were in a shock, and they didn’t know how to deal with this. It was taking a toll on their mental health. So, I decided to start these webinars. Here people can converse, discuss various topics.”
