INDIA: Gadar 2, the highly anticipated sequel of the superhit film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has been making buzz ever since the film was announced. Now, the teaser of Gadar 2 is officially released, making netizens jump off their seats in excitement.
The film showcased the reunion of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, who once set the box office on fire.
Gadar 2 teaser is finally out
The one-minute-long teaser of Gadar 2 was attached to the 4K remastered version of the first instalment, which is currently re-released in theatres. Following its big screen debut, the teaser has marked its way to an official internet release.
The video shows the era of 1971, a background voiceover of a woman saying, “Damaad hai woh Pakistan ka. Use naariyal do, teeka lagao. Warna iss baar woh dahej mein Lahore le jaaega.”
The lady in the teaser, says that Tara Singh is the son-in-law of Pakistan. She later states that make a grand welcome for him, otherwise this time he will take Lahore as a dowry.
The teaser then pulls off the curtains, where Tara Singh is getting off a bus in Lahore to fight against the ‘Crush India Movement’. The clip shows Deol in a black turban hailing a wheel in the air in anger. The whole mood of the teaser raises the anticipation level for the upcoming featurette.
Gadar 2 has been directed by Anil Sharma and bankrolled jointly by Zee Studios, Anil Sharma Productions, and MM Moviez.
Gadar is coming back with a sequel after 22 years, the oldest sequel of any film. This made netizens hold onto their horses to witness the elevating action on screen.
Besides Sunny and Amisha, the film will star Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Luv Sinha, and Simrat Kaur in pivotal roles.
In a past interview with the media, Sunny Deol talked about the nostalgic film of his career, which changed his image as an actor.
He said that Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been a significant part of his life, both personally and professionally. He went on to say that Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist, but a cult icon who conquered all circumstances and crossed all borders for his family and love.
“Collaborating with the team after 22 years was a creatively enriching experience,” Deol concluded.
Gadar 2 is slated to hit the theatres on August 11, 2023, clashing with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer.
