GERMANY: At the ongoing G7 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Alberto Fernandez of Argentina in Munich. During their discussion, they discussed the complete spectrum of their bilateral relations.
The two presidents covered a range of topics during their discussion, including trade and investment, defence cooperation, agriculture, climate action, and food security.
In Munich, Germany, PM Modi also spoke to the Indian community. During his speech, he said, “Today is June 26 which is also known as the day when India’s democracy that’s is in DNA of every Indian was trampled and suppressed 47 years ago. Emergency was a black spot on the vibrant history of India’s democracy.”
During his two-day stay in Germany, the Prime Minister will attend the G7 meeting and hold discussions with the leaders of the influential group and its partner nations about topics such as energy, food security, counterterrorism, the environment, and democracy.
According to the sources, US President Joe Biden stated on Sunday that the Group of Seven nations were planning to announce a restriction on Russian gold imports in light of the conflict in Ukraine.

PM Modi lauds Indian diaspora’s contribution
PM Modi praised the diaspora for helping to promote India’s achievements as brand ambassadors.
As he engaged with them on Sunday here in Germany, PM Modi commended the diaspora’s contributions to spreading India’s growth story and serving as brand ambassadors of the country’s achievements.
Addressing the Indian diaspora during a massive event at the Audi Dome indoor arena, he highlighted India’s growth story and mentioned various initiatives undertaken by the government to further achieve the country’s development agenda.
PM Modi called India the “mother of diversity”.
“The diversity of culture, food, clothes, music, and traditions makes our democracy vibrant. India has shown that democracy can deliver and has delivered,” he added.

The state of Bavaria, where the annual gathering of the world’s leading democratic economies is taking place, greeted PM Modi’s arrival in Germany for the G7 summit with two unique gestures.
Government sources reported that PM Modi was greeted by a Bavarian band at the Munich airport, and they stated that the last time the state made such a gesture was in 2015 for then-US President Barack Obama.
PM Modi landed in Germany on Sunday for a two-day visit, during which he will attend the G7 meeting and speak with the leaders of the influential group and its allies about topics including energy, food security, counterterrorism, the environment, and democracy.
