INDIA. Mumbai: Five persons, including a Swiss national were detained during the raid at a beachside rave party, near North Goa’s Ozrant beach, on Saturday, Narcotics Control Bureau’s Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede said.

The search operations were carried out in front of Larive Beach Resort, Shiva Valley, and Monkey Bar and Restaurant at Vagator Ozran Beach, Vagator, Bardez Goa on Friday and Saturday.
The NCB recovered LSD in commercial quantity, the heroine in intermediate quantity, along with MDMA tablets, charas (a hashish form of cannabis) and other drugs. The seized drugs included: commercial quantity of Lysergic acid diethylamide(LSD) – 35 blots, 33 grams of Mephedrone, 5.1 grams of Heroin, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) tablets and Hashish.
The arrested five persons included two each from Goa and Kerala and one from Switzerland. The management of the beach shack and the beach resort has been called for questioning.
A case (No. NCB CR. No 04/2021 dated March 13, 2021) has been registered at NCB, Goa Sub Zone and all 5 suspects are being examined. Further investigations are underway.
At present we are concentrating on drug peddlers and suppliers. In North Goa, NCB Mumbai and Goa booked four cases in the last five days. Among these three cases were of commercial quantity. The NCB is putting in all efforts to identify drug peddlers and take strict action against them, he stated. The valuation of the seized drugs is yet to be done, but the drugs are of high value, Wankhede added.
