MCU boss unveils updates on Fantastic Four

Kevin Feige, the CEO of Marvel, shared the info on Fantastic Four. Feige discussed Marvel’s famous superhero group in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. As per the reports, Feige revealed that the planned Fantastic Four feature will not cover the origin story.

“A lot of people know this origin story; a lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen,” he added.

Fantastic Four (2005 and 2015) delves deeply into the origins of Marvel’s heroic squad. Both films were flawed adaptations of comic book storylines. Following the sluggish version of the characters, the features garnered negative feedback from critics and the general public.

Since the characters’ origins are shown twice in the films, it has become a recurring phenomenon. It would be safe to assume that the film will follow in the footsteps of the MCU’s Spider-Man, which likewise excluded the origin of Peter Parker becoming the Web-Slinger.

When the Fantastic Four film was confirmed as part of the MCU’s future ventures, Spider-Man: No Way Home director John Watts was also added to the cast. Watts later backed off from the film as director, and no further information regarding the project was disclosed. Apart from the film’s release date, San Diego Comic-Con has nothing to announce regarding Fantastic Four.

Fantastic Four will make its theatrical debut on November 8, 2024, starting phase 6. Following the film, many undisclosed Marvel endeavours will take place, leading to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
