AFGHANISTAN. Herat: Herat is known as a hub of knowledge, culture, and ancient crafts. However, now, the city has been actively involved in generating new ideas and using new technologies as a path toward the future. After the success of the Afghan Girls’ Robotics Team, the Computer Science faculty of Herat University is the second pioneer in developing new technologies.
Recently, a group of teachers of the Computer Science faculty of Herat University in western Afghanistan is trying to use current technologies to create a better relationship between the local government and the citizens.
Herat governor, Wahid Qatali has asked the faculty to create some tech innovations that can be used for strengthening the ties between the government and the people.

A call centre for the citizens
The teachers are preparing to create an automatic call center for receiving the complaints of Herat citizens. This software technology will enable citizens to directly send their complaints, their proposals, and demands to be reviewed. Qatali has said that he is interested in using the new technology to brings new changes in the services for the people.
Recently, the science faculty of Herat university has created a smart door for the disinfection of the COVID-19 virus.
