AUSTRALIA: Alex Hales and Jos Buttler helps England defeat India by 10 wickets. England qualifies for the finals, and they will be playing against Pakistan on November 13, 2022.
Indian Innings
A Ruffled Start
A big game, a semifinal, something expected from the openers but again, KL Rahul, departs early. Virat Kohli and Skipper Rohit Sharma, with some occasional boundaries, helped India score 38 runs in the power play.
Rohit also lost his wicket before the end of the 10th over, and India, with a slow-paced innings so far, managed to score only 62 runs in the first half of the innings (10 overs).
India soon lost their best T20 batter, Suryakumar Yadav (14) and IND was 75 for losing 3 wickets in 11.2 overs.
Consistent Kohli and Hard-Hit Pandya
Kohli yet again scored a half-century (50), and his excellent performance continues in his favourite ground Adelaide. He held the innings from his side and ensured IND was not choking.
On the other hand, Pandya started the innings slowly but accelerated as soon as the 18th overcame. He scored his half-century in only 28 balls, and it was terrific to see him bat. He was clearing the Big boundaries easily.
Pandya hit a six and a four in the final over to make sure IND finishes nicely. In the Last 5 overs, IND scored 68 runs, and most of the credit goes to Pandya’s (63, 4 sixes and 5 sixes) standout innings. IND made 168 in 20 overs.
England Innings
A power play
Jos Buttler and Alex Hales started the innings terrifically as they started whacking the ball all around the ground. Rohit used four different bowlers in the power play, but none of them worked. England scored 63 runs in the power play. It was looking like a tough job for IND as runs were leaking.
Hurricane Hales and Blazing Buttler
Hales and Buttler played extraordinarily, adding 98 runs in the first 10 overs. They were hitting the ball with ease, and in no way, at any point, it looked that IND could have won the match.
Buttler (80) and Hales (86) played both played exceptional innings and made a record partnership of 170 runs.
ENG won the match by 10 wickets with 24 balls to spare. Fantastic performance by England and a horrendous performance by India.
