UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: England defeats West Indies by six wickets to start their World T20I campaign on a great note. West Indies has a superb batting lineup, but England spinners were too hot to handle for the West Indian batsmen in this World T20I match. After winning the toss, in this match, England decided to bowl first.
Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons were opening the batting for the West Indies team. England gave the first over to their off-spinner Moeen Ali. West Indian batsmen never looked comfortable at the crease as they kept losing wickets rapidly. Moeen Ali, Tymal Mills, and Chris Woakes ripped through the Windies’ top order, and after the end of the powerplay, West Indies were 31/4.
Adil Rashid destroys West Indies’ batting
Adil Rashid got rid of all the tailenders of the Windies. Only Chris Gayle scored in double figures and West Indies bundled out 55 runs in just 14.1 overs. For England, Adil Rashid picked up four wickets, Tymal Mills and Moeen Ali took two wickets and Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes took one wicket each.

Jason Roy and Jos Buttler opened the batting for the England team. England lost their first wicket at the score of 21 runs in the form of Jason Roy. Jason Roy scored 11 runs off ten deliveries which included 1 six. England was after the target as if it was to be easily achieved, but they lost their three batsmen at quick successions.
Jos Buttler and England Skipper Eoin Morgan then helped England chase down the target without losing more wickets. Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 24 runs off 22 deliveries which included three fours and Eoin Morgan scored seven runs off seven deliveries to help England defeat West Indies by six wickets. For West Indies, Akeal Hosein took two wickets while Ravi Rampaul took one wicket.
