UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Emirates, in order to transform inflight services, has launched a new strategy called ‘One Device’, whereby all the Cabin Crew will use an iPhone 13 or iPad Air configured with custom Emirates apps to improve the overall crew experience and streamline passenger service onboard.

To date, more than 7,000 Emirates crew members use iPhones across 450 daily flights in the global network, and Emirates plans to equip an additional 5,000 cabin crew with iPhones and iPads featuring new apps as part of leveraging Apple products for all 20,000 Cabin Crew.

Emirates has already invested more than AED 32 million into the initiative and began giving out Apple devices one year ago.

The One Device initiative includes a plethora of custom-built applications, including apps that allow cabin crew to see each passenger’s profile and Skywards status. This in turn ensures swift and precise service by improving the inflight meal order-taking process in Business Class.

In addition to the above, the Emirates cabin crew can access critical real-time information combined with the tools they need to perform at their best, personalizing each customer’s experience to an unprecedented degree.

Emirates’ One Device initiative, which provides all 20,000 of its cabin crew with iPhones, enhances crew performance and safety standards in a number of ways.

First, it ensures that crew have 24/7 access to support from a team of specially trained experts at Emirates’ Dubai hub, as well as from Apple Support.

Second, the iPhone’s ability to remotely update operational manuals means that crew can always be sure that they are following the latest safety procedures.

Third, the iPhone can be used as a platform for continuous education through micro-learning courses. Finally, Emirates Cabin Crew are permitted to use their iPhones for personal use, with their private data protected.

Apple products are well-suited for the demanding work environment of Emirates cabin crew because they have many features that are important to them, such as fast charging, long battery life, lightweight design, and durable construction.

Additionally, Apple’s leading security features protect customer and cabin crew information, including by using built-in security features, Face ID authentication, and automatically deleting flight information after a journey is completed.

The rollout of Emirates’ One Device initiative has been supported by a dedicated support center at the airline’s headquarters in Dubai. This center is open 24/7 and provides cabin crew with one-stop access to help with hardware and software issues, Emirates app support, and device accessories.
