INDIA: LSD 2 officially announced! The Queen of the Television Industry, Ekta Kapoor, who has been in the direction field for about two decades, set a benchmark with her superhit movies and series.
Recently, the leading lady of the entertainment industry unveiled the first poster of her next production, Love, Sex, and Dhokha 2 (LSD 2). The movie is helmed by Dibakar Banerjee and is ready to release on February 16, 2024.
LSD 2 bags first look poster and a release date
Ekta Kapoor shared the poster of LSD 2 on her social media handle. She wrote, “Who needs roses and chocolates when you can have likes and reposts? From Love in the Times of the Camera to Love in the Times of the Internet On Valentine’s 2024 weekend, choose your poison: LOVE, SEX, or DHOKHA! #LSD2 will be released in theatres on February 16, 2024.”
The poster shows a person sniffing “Likes” as a form of drug, which suggests that the audience will see parallels between our technologically obsessed world and a couple engaged in both intimate connection and technological alienation at the same time.
However, a similar date is fixed for Akshay Kumar’s untitled film, which is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. Earlier, Ekta and Dibakar announced the sequel to the film for 2021. However, the production got delayed due to COVID-related complications, and now the makers are all set to begin filming the sequel soon.
The first part of the movie, Love Sex Aur Dhokha, was released in 2010; it featured actors like Rajkummar Rao, Neha Chauhan, Anshuman Jha, and Nushrratt Bharuccha, among others. It gained instant popularity and raised the bar of anticipation.
Now, rumours have circulated that Big Boss 16 contestant Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia has been finalised as the lead actress in LSD 2.
