INDIA: In a recent interview, TV-turned-Bollywood actress Radhika Madan’s comment on the work culture of the TV industry raised many fingers upon her. However, two people belonging to the same fraternity strongly condemned her statement; first is actor Sayantani Ghosh, and the other is producer Ekta Kapoor.
Radhika Madan shares her experience of TV industry
As per the record, Radhika Madan recalled her working in the television industry for 48-50 hours a shift. The actor said as soon as she reaches her TV sets, they provide her with fresh scripts. She added, “Aap set pe chalo, script garma garam aa rahi hai (You just reach the sets, the script will be freshly printed).”
Radhika Madan also pointed to ace directors who used to make changes at the last minute, and directors are never the same. They come when they are free; otherwise, some other directors come in place of the assigned one.
Radhika also said that whenever she had anything to say about her character, she was told by the director that they would think about it when they made a film and not a TV serial.
The question was raised in front of actor Sayantani, who has been working in the Television industry for over two decades now.
She answered the question during the interview session with RJ Siddharth Kannan. “We also have Mouni Roy, a great friend of mine. In the interviews I’ve listened to, she has a certain grace that I didn’t see in Radhika’s footage, likely since she started her career in TV.
“You shouldn’t do that, in my opinion, because she and many others despise television. Don’t use television as a stepping stone, that’s my issue,” she concluded.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein famed Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya also extended her support to Sayantani and said, “Sayantani, I wholeheartedly concur with your opinions and admire the way you approached the problem.”
Moreover, Television Queen Ekta Kapoor also shared Sayantani Ghosh’s interview on her Instagram handle. She wrote, “Sad!!!! N Shameful actors have no respect for their roots kudos.”
