INDIA. Mumbai: In a recent update, The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) approved Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction to hold a Dussehra rally at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) ground.

Having said that, both Uddhav Thackeray and Shinde wanted the same Shivaji Park, to hold the Dussehra rally. Both parties filed an application demanding permission to host the Dussehra celebration at the BKC ground.

This proves how both Shiv Sena factions are desperately showcasing their power. Meanwhile, MMRDA chief S V R Srinivas confirmed that they have granted permission to CM Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction, for the Dussehra rally on October 5.

As of now, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has kept the applications on hold for organising the Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park. The BMC for nearly three decades has been ruled by the Uddhav Thackeray-led party which is presently being run by Administrator Iqbal Chahal after the perishment of the term of the civic body.

Whereas last week MMRDA, rejected the application submitted by Uddhav Thackeray, seeking permission to hold the Dussehra rally at an alternate nearby ground, but the authority put a halt by saying, it’s already been booked for another event.

Meanwhile, In a media conference, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant demanded that the Thackeray camp should also get permission to use Shivaji Park. He said, “I have received the information that the MMRDA has permitted to their camp. And it was said that they applied first.”

If this is the case, Shiv Sena applied Shiv Tirth first. That’s why we should get permission. This filthy politics should be stopped. From Shiv Sena’s formation till last year, every Dussehra rally has been held at Shiv Tirth”.

The concerned BMC authority will soon conclude this week and declare the decision over the Dussehra rally.
