INDIA. Mumbai: As per its ongoing zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, the teams of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), conducted four operations in Mumbai and Goa and registered three cases within two days.
During these operations, a total of 34.5 Kgs of Codeine Syrup, the commercial quantity of Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), a psychedelic drug, 105 grams of Heroin, 400 gram (700 tablets) Nitrazepam, the intermediate quantity of Cocaine, and a small quantity of Hydroponic Multi-Strain Weed was seized four persons, including one Nigerian national were nabbed, NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, told the Transcontinental Times.
In the first operation, based on intelligence developed, NCB Mumbai, raided the house of one Mohammed Nasir Saifur Rehman Khan at Byculla West in South Mumbai and recovered 27 Kg of Codeine syrup and took him and another person Mohammed Salman Shaikh in the custody on Monday.
Based on the disclosure made by Mohammed Nasir Saifur Rehman Khan, NCB raided the house of one Ajay Nagraj located at Nariyalwadi, Mazgaon, in South Mumbai and recovered 7.5 Kgs of Codeine syrup, 105 grams of Heroin, 400 gram (700 tablets) Nitrazepam and 250 grams of Ganja and took him into custody on Monday. An offence (FIR No 85/2021) was registered against the three accused.
In the second operation, based on the information, that one Nigerian National named David was involved in supplying various drugs like LSD, Coke, Ecstasy, etc. in and around the Parra and Arpora area of Goa, the NCB conducted a special drive in Goa.
During the drive, the officers of the NCB, Sub Zone Goa, succeeded in apprehending the suspect David near Nagoa Grand Hotel, Calangute- Mapusa Road, Arpora, North Goa, on late Monday night.
During the search 11 Blots of LSD (Commercial quantity) and an intermediate quantity of Cocaine was recovered from a person, who was identified as David Chibuike Chisom @ Eze Chukwebuka Joshua Resident of Nigeria. He was arrested and an offence (FIR No 08/2021) was registered by NCB Goa Sub-Zone.
In the third operation, a team of NCB Mumbai seized 60 grams of Multi strain Buds @ Cannabis, from a parcel that originated from Canada and was sent to Mumbai. On opening the parcel it was found that the drugs were concealed in a box of chocolates. These Multi strain buds are priced at Rs. 5,000/- to 8,000/- per gram in the illicit market. The offence (FIR No. No 84/2021) was registered by NCB, Mumbai. Further investigation to nab the addressee is on.
