UNITED STATES: Donald Trump, a former US president, denounced Speaker Nancy Pelosi as “an animal” on Monday during a rally in Ohio on the eve of the midterm elections.
Trump, who hopes to make a stunning comeback to the White House in the 2024 elections, defended his remarks by saying that she has impeached him twice “for nothing” as those elections get closer.
“An MS-13 gang member was convicted for luring a teenage kid to a playground, assaulting him with a baseball bat, and stabbing him 32 times. This was an animal,” Trump stated.
“Nancy Pelosi said don’t call them animals, they’re human. I replied no, they’re animals. Of course, if you want the truth, I think she’s an animal as well,” he continued as the Ohio audience applauded him.
Donald Trump defended his remarks by claiming that she had impeached him twice for no reason.
In his justification, Trump further continued, saying, “What a dreadful thing, he called Nancy Pelosi an animal,’ they’ll say. Let me tell you what she did to us and our country… and yet we accomplished more as an administration and as a president than almost any president in US history.”
It is well known that Nancy Pelosi and Donald Trump have a tense relationship, especially after Pelosi claimed she would have liked to “punch” the former president if he visited the Capitol during the riots on January 6.
“I’m going to punch him out if he comes. I’ve been looking forward to this. I’m going to punch him out for trespassing on Capitol grounds. And I’m going to jail, and I’m going to be satisfied,” Nancy Pelosi told the journalists later.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s husband, was “violently assaulted” on October 28 following a break-in at their California home. He was later released, and the accused is now in police custody.
