UNITED STATES: Doctor Strange 2 has finally come to a close with a staggering global box office haul of $800 million. Master of Mystic Arts has officially eclipsed DC’s Cape Crusader in the box office rat race.
Sam Raimi’s rendition of Master of Mystic Arts has broken box office records in the United States, grossing $350 million. The overseas take is $450 million, handing the Marvel film an estimated total take of $815 million.
Doctor Strange dominates the box office
On a $185-$200 million budget, Batman generated revenue of $735 million. Before its third weekend in US theatres and overseas premieres, the film had grossed $500 million. Even though it is the first DC film to be released this year, the WB studios have had a solid start. Until recently, the Cape Crusader had been at the top until recently, but The Master of Mystic Arts has finally surpassed it as a box office hit.
In India, Marvel fandom is on an entirely freaking level. The Master of Mystic Arts has a mammoth collection of Rs 115 crore, making it the biggest contender for upcoming superhero films in 2022. After the pandemic, it became the second-highest-grossing Marvel film in India.
The Batman grossed Rs 44 crore in India, with the English edition accounting for most of the revenue. Though it did well in its first week, the release of The Kashmir Files, which was on a record-breaking run, has dampened the cape crusader’s performance in India.
