INDIA: In a tragic incident, fifteen people lost their lives to an engulfed fire that broke out inside a residential building in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad.

The Ashirwad Tower is a high-rise residential building situated in the Jodaphatak area in Dhanbad, consisting of multiple close-in infant rooms comprising around 100 flats. The heart-winching accident left people critically injured. The actual reason behind the massive fire blast is still unknown.
Reportedly, a rescue team from Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) were also pressed for operations. As per a recent update, Dhanbad senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sanjeev Kumar said, “We are unable to provide current specific casualty counts. We were able to put out the fire.”
“A few victims received injuries and were sent to the hospital. We are currently conducting a combing operation and keeping track of every resident. Soon, the precise toll will be known,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle and expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and the people in distress.
He wrote, “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire in Dhanbad. My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.”
He further declared an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF to the kin of each deceased family who lost their near and dear ones in the fire. Further, he listed a compensation of Rs. 50,000 to be given to the injured.
Chief Minister Hemant Soran is personally monitoring the whole incident. He said that the district government is operating on a war footing, and all injured people are receiving treatment.
In addition, he said, “May God provide the departed souls comfort and the grieving families courage to endure the difficult times of mourning.”
