UNITED STATES: Developers now have access to cutting-edge language and speech-to-text features thanks to ChatGPT and Whisper models being added to the API, the business claimed in a blog post.
An application programming interface (API) has been made available by Microsoft-owned OpenAI, enabling third party developers to incorporate ChatGPT and Whisper into their products and services.
Users of the ChatGPT API may anticipate ongoing model improvements and the option of dedicated capacity for greater model control, according to the press release.
A few other businesses, like Snapchat’s My AI feature, which was unveiled earlier this week, was also listed by OpenAI as utilising the new APIs.
OpenAI is selling 1,000 tokens for $0.002, which it claims is “10 times less expensive than our current GPT-3.5 models,” for the ChatGPT API.
As per the statement, in addition to having the ability to select a specific model version, developers using the gpt-3.5-turbo model will always receive the company’s suggested stable model.
In addition, they have complete control over the instance’s load, the opportunity to enable features like extended context restrictions, and the power to pin the model snapshot.
On the other hand, Whisper API, according to the business, allows developers to transcribe audio for $0.006 per minute. The business released Whisper, a speech-to-text paradigm, as open source in September of last year.
It read, “We think that by enabling everyone to use AI to create their own goods, everyone will be given incredible opportunities and economic empowerment.”
In an effort to catch up to Microsoft, major international tech companies have released plans for integrating ChatGPT-like artificial intelligence into their market-leading platforms and services. YouTube is the most recent to do so.
