Delhi CM Kejriwal Announces Mega Shopping Festival

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia affirmed that the Delhi government's 'Rozgaar Bazaar' helped generate over 10 lakh jobs to get employment in the capital

INDIA. Delhi: Delhi will witness its first grand shopping festival starting early next year. Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal made an official statement on Wednesday: “A 30-day Delhi Shopping Festival will be held from Jan 28-Feb 26 (in 2023). This will be the biggest shopping festival in India. We are starting it now. We hope to make it the biggest shopping festival in the world,”. This is a very loud and clear announcement for all the Indians.

Adding more to his statement, Kejriwal said: “This will provide an unparalleled shopping experience. The entire city will be decorated, and exhibitions will be organized. In this mela, people will get heavy discounts,”.

In a press conference, CM Kejriwal stated that this festival would be a key to generating revenue for the state and employment opportunities for many. “It’ll be an opportunity for businessmen to increase their business. It will be a huge opportunity to present Delhi internationally,” said Kejriwal. Eventually, the Delhi government declared the ‘Rozgaar Budget’ to increase economic growth. 

Under the banner of this Rozgaar Budget, more than five lakhs of employment is expected to be generated in the next coming five years. Kejriwal says more than 1.78 lakh youth have gotten employment in the past seven years.

Further, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia affirmed that the Delhi government’s ‘Rozgaar Bazaar’ helped generate over 10 lakh jobs to get employment in the capital. 

This mega festival will allow domestic and international tourists to participate in the culture of Delhi, a world heritage city as declared by UNESCO. The centre is planning to organize the biggest ever shopping haul, where different states could participate and help build a strong economy.
