UNITED STATES: Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan have finally arrived on Disney+. The R-rated films have now officially joined MCU’s most popular streaming platform. Following the merger of Disney and 20th Century Fox, fans were sceptical of the R-rated premise of Merc with a Mouth. Later, the studio announced that Deadpool would remain R-rated, which relieved fans.
The Merc with a Mouth and Logan emerge as the first R-rated features on Disney+
With its initial launch, Disney+ favoured to feature only PG-13 content; there were no intentions for the streaming channel to include adult-oriented content. Fans can finally be thrilled for Disney’s take on the next films now that Deadpool and Logan have joined the stage.
Deadpool is a comedic and immortal Marvel anti-hero with a fourth-wall-breaking ability. At the same time, Logan concentrates on the aged Wolverine protecting his biological daughter and other mutants from the evil corporates.
Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to announce the release of Deadpool and Logan on Disney+. Ryan refers to the traumatic endings of Disney movies, which have a very tragic finale, in his tweet. He went on to say that such films should already be R-rated.
The tweet read, “We’re supposed to announce Logan and Deadpool will soon be the first R-rated movies on Disney+. But we all know some Disney movies should already be rated R for irreversible trauma.”
The third instalment of Deadpool is on its way under Disney’s banner
Deadpool 3 was confirmed earlier this year, with Shawn Levy as director. He previously worked with Ryan Reynolds on projects like Free Guy (2021) and The Adam Project (2022). The actor then made the revelation public by sharing a humorous poster showcasing all of his past personas from The Free Guy and The Adam Project. “The third film in my Shawn Levy trilogy will be a tad more stabby,” he captioned the poster.
It is also speculated that Marvel will make an announcement about Deadpool 3 at the San Diego Comic-Con.
