Serbia is still in despair following the shooting spree on Wednesday at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in the city’s heart, which was carried out by a 13-year-old kid using his father’s guns. Gun laws following this incident were made strict, and the people were asked by the police to keep their weapons away from the children.

According to France’s foreign ministry, one of the victims was a French citizen. Dozens of students paid tribute to the death earlier on Thursday, many of whom appeared in all black.

On Friday, an official three-day period of mourning commenced in Serbia in memory of the children who lost their lives. The suspect, age 21, blasted at people at random using an automatic rifle. Before police caught him early on Friday, he had been avoiding capture for a few hours, according to a news broadcaster of the state.

Resources like ambulances, police force as well as helicopter units were sent to the area. A news reporter describing the absolute shock of the people in the area stated that “Everyone has become a little more quiet. A shock is the loudest sound we can hear. These incidents have never occurred in this way in Serbia before.”
