INDIA: Nani’s pan-Indian action movie, Dasara, which became the biggest blockbuster hit of the Telugu film industry, is about to hit OTT screens. The mass entertainer film, which grabbed all the window tickets over three weeks, will finally be available for streaming on Netflix.
Dasara to release on Netflix
After a month of Nani’s high actioner’s theatrical release, it is making its way onto streaming platforms. The film will stream on the digital platform from April 27, 2023.
The Twitter handle of Netflix India South tweeted a poster of Dasara with the announcement that the film will soon be released on the platform. The tweet read, “It’s time to take out the fireworks because #Dasara is coming early this year! Dasara is coming to Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on the 27th of April.”
However, fans are pretty excited to watch the Hindi version, and speculations suggest the Hindi version of the Telugu hit will be released on Disney+ Hotstar or Prime Video. However, any official confirmation is awaited.
The highly acclaimed movie, which bagged humongous appreciation from various actors and directors, witnessed an exceptional performance by Nani and Keerthy Suresh. Dheekshith Shetty, Shine Tom Chacko, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar and Poorna did a fantastic job as the supporting cast.
The debutant Srikanth Odela’s directorial had been compared to massive hit films like Pushpa and KGF, but the film did justice to the storyline.
The story is based upon the actual incident in the director’s maternal grandmother’s hometown Veerlapally, showcasing the effects of NTR’s third and final term as AP CM in 1994, which imposed an alcohol prohibition.
Dasara became the highest-grossing film of Nani’s career. As per reports, Dasara currently ranks in the 8th position as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, ahead of the release of Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa.
