CWG 2022 Day 6: Tejaswin Shankar Cruises to Final, Boxing Team Riding High

UNITED KINGDOM. Birmingham: India is on the verge of creating history by earning the highest number of gold medals in the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG). India has so far received four gold, three silver and three bronze in the CWG 2022.

On Tuesday, the Indian women’s fours lawn bowls team made history by defeating South Africa 17-10 in the final, bringing home the prestigious gold for the first time in the sport.

In Athletics, Tejaswin Shankar will compete for a medal in the high jump final, whereas Manpreet Kaur will be up and running in the shot put final.

The Indian Women’s Cricket team has successfully won the match against Pakistan and is headed toward beating Barbados. They have qualified for the final four at CWG 2022.

In the honkey, both the gender categories with face Canada to make their way in the league. Lovpreet Singh and Gurdeep Singh will be competing in the men’s 109kg weightlifting category; Purnima Pandey will challenge the women’s 87kg.

The Indian Boxing team are in high hopes that Nikhat Zahreen, Lovlina Borgohain and Hussam Uddin Mohammed will be playing at the best of their capacities and hoping to do the best in the CWG 2022.

Day 6 of the CWG 2022 will witness India receiving the highest number of medals as athletes will be competing for the prestigious medal across boxing, weightlifting, squash and athletics. Punam Yadav had bad luck as she failed in her three clean and jerk lifts and failed to make her way from the women’s 76kg category.

Those athletes who have failed to make their way into the league have also played exceptionally well, marching against all odds and fouls that came their way. India hopes to get more medals in the coming days, and many other games are aligned.
