Ehanire added that the only way forward in this is to get vaccinated because those who have taken the vaccine have full protection while the unvaccinated ones are still exposed to danger.

The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib disclosed that over 4,680,000 Nigerians have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19.

“4,680,000 million persons have been vaccinated, 1,865,127 were fully vaccinated with the two doses of the vaccine,’ Shuaib said.

However, the number of the vaccinated persons is not up to the nation’s target, and that will be a threat by the virus in the aspect of preventing the country from returning to its normalcy.

Shuaibu therefore urged every qualified Nigerian to visit the nearest vaccination center to take their vaccine.

“The vaccines are currently available in designated vaccination sites across the country and are safe and effective,” Shuibu noted.

The Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki said the state had so far vaccinated over 130,000 residents against COVID-19.

Osaigbovo Iyokha, Chief of Staff to Obaseki affirmed that the state is targeting 60 per cent of its population to be vaccinated.
