Australia: Riding on Colin Munro’s astounding century, Perth Scorchers defeats Adelaide Strikers by 49 runs. After this victory, Perth Scorchers are at the second position in the Big Bash points table. In this match after winning the toss, Perth Scorchers opted to bat first.
The opening batsmen of Perth Scorchers, Colin Munro and Cameron Bancroft showed that opting to bat first was a correct decision as the duo just annihilated the Adelaide Strikers bowling lineup.
The duo added 48 runs in the mandatory powerplay. After that, both Cameron Bancroft and Colin Munro kept scoring while maintaining their run rate. Colin Munro was the aggressor in this innings.
Bancroft and Munro’s massive opening stand for Perth Scorchers
Cameron Bancroft and Colin Munro stitched up a 132 runs partnership for the opening wicket. Unfortunately, Cameron Bancroft got run out because of some miscommunication between the two batsmen and Perth Scorchers were 132/1 after 15.3 overs.
Cameron Bancroft got out after scoring 45 runs off 37 deliveries which included 5 fours. After the fall of Bancroft, Ashton Turner joined Colin Munro in the middle. In the last 4 overs, it was all about the Colin Munro show. Munro scored 48 runs in the last 4 overs. He smashed Rashid Khan for 28 runs in Rashid Khan’s last 2 overs whereas he scored 14 runs in the last over against Peter Siddle to help Perth Scorchers post a massive total of 195/1 after 20 overs.

Colin Munro scored his maiden Big Bash hundred. Munro scored 114 runs off 73 deliveries which included 8 fours and 6 sixes. Ashton Turner scored unbeaten 14 runs off 10 deliveries which included 1 six.
Adelaide Strikers openers Matthew Short and Jake Weatherald started their innings on a good note. Weatherald was looking good as he had 17 runs off 9 deliveries which included 2 fours and 1 six but Jason Behrendorff removed him and Strikers were 28/1 after 2.5 overs.
The problem with Adelaide Strikers during this chase was that they failed to build a partnership. Strikers kept losing wickets and Matthew Short was standing alone at the other end.
