CM Yogi Presents Rs 6.90 Lakh Crore Budget for UP

UP budget mainly focuses on petrol prices, transportation, and pilgrimage

INDIA: The fourth largest state of India, Uttar Pradesh, under the administration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to achieve a $1 trillion economy in the coming five years. CM of the heartland of India recently presented a huge budget of over ₹6,90,000 crores for the year 2023-24.

CM Yogi introduces UP budget 2023-24

CM Yogi, while earmarking it, called it a budget to build the foundation of “self-reliant Uttar Pradesh” on the model of “self-reliant India”. This is the second budget presented by Yogi Adityanath since he became the CM of UP.

CM confirmed that in the last six years, the state witnessed an increase in the per capita income while GDP has more than doubled. The budget will further emphasize Ayodhya redeveloping it into a “Model solar city”

Moreover, money is allocated in the budget to build planetariums and science cities in Varanasi and Agra. It will also concentrate on the upcoming Mahakumbh in 2025. As part of the pilgrimage comforts, Pradesh will receive an allocation of 400 crores for 1,000 new buses from the Transport Corporation and an extra 100 crores for the bus station.

The Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Khanna, presented the fiscal year 2023-24 budget by announcing the state GDP increased by 16.8% during Yogi Adityanath’s second term while the unemployment rate fell to 4.2%. 

Amid the budget session, CM Yogi came for media interaction and said, “This budget for the fiscal year 2023–2024 will prove to be a turning point in achieving Uttar Pradesh’s goal of having a $1 trillion GDP within the next five years, in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.”

“We decreased the excise duty tax on petrol and diesel without charging the general public with any additional taxes. Provided the general public with inflation alleviation. In this state, petrol and diesel are less expensive than in any other state in the union,” he added.
