UNITED STATES: The high-octane spy thriller Citadel rocked its digital debut. Now, the second installment is set to begin filming in California. However, the writer’s strike has caused a major disruption in the production of films and television series. So, the shooting is halted until the strike ends. As per reports, the new series is set to premiere in 2025.
Reportedly, the second sequel to Citadel season 2 will have Richard Madden as Mason Kane, Priyanka Chopra as Nadia Sinh, Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick, Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Grace, Moira Kelly as Joe, Gráinne Good as Valeria, and Serafina Tarafinafdar as Asha.
Spoilers ahead for Citadel S1!
Season 1 ended with Mason reliving his memories and discovering that he was the one who betrayed Citadel. He recognised Dahlia Archer as his mother. He also came across the fact that he gave up on Citadel because she would hold them responsible for his father’s death by taking the information to a UK high court amid the probing launched.
Further, she decided to join the spy agency to take revenge. Thus, he recovered that he was still married to Nadia and that they have a daughter named Asha.
Surprisingly, Mason also got married to Abby, who was once a spy for the agency that he backed up to protect Nadia, and they together have a daughter named Hendrix. Now, the new season will show how the whole spy team starts trying to track down Dahlia.
The first season had six episodes, and the audience was hooked on Mason and Nadia’s love story. Now, the upcoming part will unveil a new thriller experience.
Besides this a new spinoff ‘Diana’ is also announced, expanding the Citadel universe. The upcoming series recently recieved a teaser.
