CANADA: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has given a wink and a tongue-out to Greg Fergus, the new Speaker of the House, marking the first Black person to hold the position in Canada. Thus, this led internet users to criticize the Canadian PM.

Fergus became the first Black person to hold the position after Anthony Rota stepped down after honouring a Nazi veteran in the Canadian Parliament. It all began when Pierre Marcel Poilievre, the leader of the opposition, and the premier brought Fergus inside the Canadian House of Commons in accordance with custom. After being referred to as “honourable prime minister” by the new speaker, the Canadian PM started grinning widely.

The Canadian prime minister cut Fergus off and grinned. He added,“Very honourable prime minister,” and then stuck out his tongue. This incident went viral, gaining significant attention.

Many people were concerned about Fergus’s objectivity as the new Speaker of the House of Commons.

One X user wrote, “Trudeau sticks his tongue out and winks at newly elected Speaker of the House of Commons. Something tells me he is going to be on the side of Trudeau and not neutral. The new speaker is just another liberal puppet…change my mind!”
