Buhari stated that it is due to these challenges that the country came up with the idea of initiating a new landing ship tank earlier this year adding that this was commissioned by the Nigerian Navy to assist the government in combating insurgency.

“The idea of the Landing Ship Tank is will bolster the Navy’s Sealift capability and promote our global maritime commerce, peace and safety within the Gulf of Guinea and our maritime neighbourhood,” Buhari noted.

Buhari, hence, charged the graduating Officer Cadets to be aware of the world they were going into as it is different from that which confronted many of their predecessors.

The Deputy Commandant of Nigeria Defense Academy  (NDA), Air Vice-Marshal Ahmodu appreciated the President for his unending support and commitment to the NDA.
