SOUTH KOREA: BTS, the global phenomenon that needs no introduction, continues to leave their indelible mark on the music industry. The latest feat in their ever-expanding list of achievements?
BTS’ album ‘BTS, THE BEST’ has earned silver certification in the United Kingdom, becoming their 12th album to attain this prestigious recognition. It’s yet another testament to the group’s undeniable popularity and enduring impact.
On October 6, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) confirmed that BTS’ Japanese greatest hits album from 2021, ‘BTS, THE BEST,’ had officially earned a silver BRIT certification. To achieve this distinction, albums must reach 60,000 units sold, a milestone that BTS effortlessly crossed.
This achievement follows closely on the heels of BTS’ album Proof, which secured silver certification on August 25. Proof became their 11th album to reach this status, once again highlighting their immense popularity in the UK.
The BPI’s standards dictate that albums attain silver certification when they reach 60,000 units sold, while singles achieve silver status at 200,000 units sold.
BTS has consistently dazzled the UK charts with a remarkable array of albums, including ‘Love Yourself: Answer,’ ‘Map of the Soul: Persona,’ ‘Love Yourself: Tear,’ ‘Map of the Soul: 7,’ ‘Love Yourself: Her,’ ‘Face Yourself,’ ‘Proof’ among others. This continued success is a testament to their unparalleled global appeal.
As some BTS members are fulfilling their mandatory military service, the group has temporarily shifted their focus to solo endeavors. Each member is exploring their individual musical tastes and aesthetics, treating fans to solo singles and albums. Notably, Jungkook’s recent solo single ‘3D’ has taken the world by storm since its release.
On September 29, fans were treated to the highly anticipated collaboration between Jungkook and the talented singer Jack Harlow.
The single quickly conquered global iTunes and Spotify charts, trending in over 100 regions worldwide. Additionally, 3D achieved YouTube sensation status, racking up impressive views within just 24 hours of its release.
In parallel, another BTS member’s solo track, ‘Seven (feat. Latto),’ continues to break records on various music charts and streaming platforms daily. Jungkook, in particular, has etched his name in history by becoming the first Korean solo artist with two separate songs debuting in the top five of the Official Singles Chart, underscoring the immense global impact of his solo ventures.
BTS’ journey continues to be a remarkable tale of triumph and innovation, and with each new milestone, they solidify their place as global music icons. The BTS ARMY can undoubtedly look forward to more groundbreaking achievements in the future.
