INDIA: Shahid Kapoor is back with a bang in his upcoming crime-thriller Bloody Daddy. The makers just dropped the trailer, which instantly raised the bar of anticipation.
The one-minute-56-second long trailer of Bloody Daddy, posted by Jio Studios, promises to thrill. The role of an angry and stubborn young man suits Shahid like no other. After Kabir Singh, it’s the next movie where Shahid would be playing the action role.
Shahid shared the trailer on his social media handles, writing in the caption, “One hell of a BLOODY night…Trailer out now! #BloodyDaddy Watch #BloodyDaddyOnJioCinema, streaming free on 9th June!”
The trailer begins with Shahid’s Sumair walking away from a scene of the crime where a packet of drugs is discovered. An intense voiceover of Shahid says, “Every night has a story. This is the story of a night when things got f****d up.”
However, the key factor, which keeps the action shining, is when Shahid beats up the guys without blinking an eyelid. Sumair gets a call from a drug peddler (Ronit Bose Roy).
Sumair has a bag of cocaine that belongs to the peddler, who warns, “Do not complicate matters. You know me very well.”
Besides Shahid Kapoor in the lead, Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial Bloody Daddy stars Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, Rajeev Khandelwal, Diana Penty and Ankur Bhatia in pivotal roles.
During a recent media interaction, Shahid opened up about the film and shared his experience of working in action films.
He claimed that filming an action movie was a lot of fun and that he had a terrific time. The actor mentioned that he appreciated working with Ali and that the director had a deep understanding of the genre.
Shahid added, “The dilemma now is that if you’re doing something of this scale on OTT, what do you do on the big screen? So we have to figure that out. It has been a blast.”
Beside Bloody Daddy, Shahid’s last OTT release, Farzi, set the digital space on fire. Now, the upcoming movie is no less than a bomb, which is set to premiere on Jio Cinema on June 9, 2023.
