INDIA: This weekend will be on fire for all movie lovers as Shahid Kapoor’s Bloody Daddy will make its debut on JioCinema. The film will have free access for all audiences. The Ali Abbas Zafar-directed movie is an adaptation of the French movie ‘Sleepless Night’.
The storyline of Bloody Daddy revolves around the drug peddlers and mafias of the city. Now, finally, the wait is over, as the movie will hit the OTT platform tomorrow, June 9, 2023.
The film has all the elements to be presented on big screens. However, the makers finalized to release it directly to the digital platform.
Talking about Bloody Daddy, Shahid Kapoor revealed that the team put in a lot of effort to make the film and that they overcame several obstacles to complete the project in one go.
Shahid further added that they created it for OTT, and it was his first action movie. He claimed that many people had questioned why the film’s creators had chosen to release it online only (OTT) rather than in theatres.
Further, he clarified the reason for choosing the digital medium above the big screen release. Shahid Kapoor commented that a few years ago, those who were open to change saw that this was the fact and that it would occur.
The actor went on to say that consuming content at home is a more comfortable experience, but going to the theatres is more of an event experience, where you go and spend a day out with family. He went on to say that they can coexist.
“Even though a lot of people wanted this film to be out in theatres. Exhibitors called and told us to release this film in theatres, but we stuck to what we had thought – which is a big screen experience on OTT,” Kapoor concluded.
