INDIA: The auspicious occasion of Ram Navmi marked the arrival of Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa at the box office. Now that day one has passed since the film’s inception on big screens, trade analysts and its makers have revealed the box office figures.
Following the box-office success of Drishyam 2, Ajay Devgn is back with another entertaining Bollywood movie. This time, Mass Maharaja also steered the camera in addition to acting. Given Devgn’s unique take on the action genre and the film’s enticing teaser, it generated high hopes among the viewers.
Let’s see whether this movie meets audience expectations or bombs at the box office.
Ajay Devgn Films unveiled the box office figure of Bholaa. The production house posted a poster on Twitter that read, “Bholaa roaring in your hearts and at the box office. Rs 11.20 crores on Day 1 India.”
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Bholaa puts up a decent score on Day 1 [#RamNavmi]… Healthy footfalls during spot bookings – towards evening shows specifically – compensate for the low turnout in morning + noon shows… Thu ₹ 11.20 cr. #India biz. Day 1 biz tilts more towards mass centres, with #Mumbai remaining low… Needs to gather pace over the weekend for a respectable total.”
As per Traran Adarsh Bholaa opened to a decent start at the box office. Weekend is also approaching which may result in the box office increase.
Ajay Devgn’s directorial released with Nani’s Dasara, which also bagged successive numbers in the south belt. If we talk about the film’s box office rating, it currently has an 8.3/10 score on IMDB.
Critics mostly praised the film for its mass action scenes and Ajay Devgn’s direction, but some criticized it for its lengthy runtime.
Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa is the official remake of Lokesh Kanagraj’s Tamil film Kaithi, which set up its own universe (Loki Universe). It includes Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and the upcoming Vijay’s Leo.
If we look at Bholaa, the climactic scene and a cameo also hint that the film is also gearing up for its sequel.
