PAKISTAN: Militant organization Baloch Liberation Army destroyed a statue of Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Gwadar port city in Pakistan. Earlier this year, Jinnah’s statue was erected at Marine Drive which is considered a safe area.
According to the sources, some militants belonging to the Baloch Liberation Army planted an explosive device beneath the statue and blew it up on Sunday. The statue was destroyed and the nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained. The Bomb Disposal Squad is still investigating the incident.
The militant group was also responsible for the September 25 bomb blast in Balochistan. The Baloch Liberation Army had claimed responsibility for the bomb attack which killed four Pakistan security personnel and injured two others. The militant group targeted a vehicle of the Frontier Corps in the Khosat area of the Harnai district.
Official sources said that the FC vehicle was targeted in the Safar Bash area. The FC soldiers were performing their patrolling duty and when their vehicle reached the Safar Bash area the improvised explosive device went off.
Meanwhile, after accusing India of being responsible for terrorism in Pakistan, Pakistan has now started blaming Iran for the saboteur activities in the country. Pakistan has blamed Iran for plotting a terrorist attack on Chinese engineers in Gwadar last month.

Pakistan’s interior minister had accused India of being behind the Gwadar blast after being slammed by China. Some Pakistani journalists had scoffed at the allegations. China had instructed Pakistan to deal with domestic terrorism and increase the security of its engineers. Chinese projects in Gwadar have been stalled for the past month due to inadequate security.
