UNITED STATES: Assassin’s Creed fans’ wait is over! Ubisoft announced the next instalment in the fan-favourite game franchise. Following numerous leaks and rumours circulating about the next game coming in the series, Ubisoft unveiled the title of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game. The new Assassin’s Creed game is officially titled “Assassin’s Creed Mirage”.
Released in 2007, Assassin’s Creed appeared as a benchmark in the gaming industry. Ubisoft’s action-adventure game introduced counter-based hack and slashed combat, with players taking on the role of an Assassin who engages in parkour and stealth combat.
Ubisoft will unveil more updates on Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the upcoming week
The official Twitter handle of Assassin’s Creed announced the title of the upcoming game. The tweet read, “Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next Assassin’s Creed game. We can’t wait to tell you more on September 10 at Ubisoft Forward: 9 PM CEST | 12 PM PT. #AssassinsCreed.”
According to the tweet, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the franchise’s next instalment. More information, aside from the title, has yet to be revealed. The updates for the upcoming game will be available on September 10, 2022. Additional information will be disclosed at Ubisoft Forward at 9 p.m. CEST/12 p.m. PT.
In addition to the game title and update date, the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account shared a new key visual from Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The game poster heightens the anticipation by depicting the main character in a full Assassin outfit, wielding the iconic hidden blade. The key visual confirms that the game will take place in Baghdad.
Previously, numerous leaks and rumours about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game floated on the internet. Many leaks have suggested that the game will be set in Baghdad and follow Basim as the protagonist. From the key visual, it appears the leaks and rumours were accurate.
Basim was primarily featured in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, where he quickly became a fan favourite after his introduction into the game’s plot. Gamers will now be able to play as Basim in Assassin Creed Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the twelfth part in the game franchise, was released in 2020. The game went on to become the Assassin Creed series’ second most commercially successful instalment.
