INDIA: With the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup approaching, the question on everyone’s lips remains the same: “Can India end the ICC trophy drought?” Ravichandran Ashwin, a seasoned all-rounder for the nation, recently expressed his opinions on the subject, calling the constant rumours “ridiculous” and expressing optimism for India’s chances at the renowned competition.

Losses in the finals of the 2014 T20 World Cup, the 2017 Champions Trophy, and the 2021 World Test Championship have only fueled the narrative of India’s drought.

However, Ashwin, in a candid segment on his YouTube channel, took a different stance on the issue. “India do start as favourites ahead of this 2023 World Cup,” Ashwin confidently stated, reiterating the immense potential and talent within the Indian cricket squad.

With the 2023 ODI World Cup set to take place on home soil across ten venues starting on October 5 and culminating with the final on November 19, expectations are high for the Men in Blue.
