INDIA: During the filming of the fantasy drama Project K, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was injured. During an action scene, the actor tore a muscle on the right side of his rib cage. The actor wrote a blog, giving an update on his health. Bachchan consulted a doctor and underwent a CT scan at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad. As per the doctor’s recommendation, Big B is currently resting in his Mumbai residence, and it will take a few weeks to recover completely.
However, the star of the golden era believes in putting in all his hard work and often refrains from using body doubles for action scenes. This isn’t the first time the superstar has sustained serious injuries. On July 26, 1982, while shooting for the movie ‘Coolie’, he was hospitalised due to internal bleeding in his lower abdomen following an accident on the sets.
Meanwhile, the Shahenshah of Bollywood took the use of a blog and wrote, “In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage .. cancelled shoot .. did the Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rest has been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalization will occur .. some medication is also for pain (sic).”
Giving more information, he wrote, “So all work that was to be done has been suspended and cancelled, dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs. I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities .. but yes rest and generally lying around. It shall be difficult or let me say… I shall be unable to meet the well-wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening .. so do not come .. and do inform as much as you can to those that intend to come.. All else is well (sic).”
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is currently busy with Ashwini Dutta’s upcoming film Project K, which is about the modern-day avatar of Lord Vishnu. The fantasy drama movie will also star Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in pivotal roles. The movie is expected to hit theatres in 2024.
