ITALY: Since it first entered the market in 1963, motorcycle gear and equipment specialist Alpinestars has been a market leader.

With its top-of-the-line gear, the Italian company has kept many riders safe, from world-famous racers to casual track day fans.

The latest Nucleon Flex Pro vest from Alpinestars exemplifies how the company’s technology has been adapted to benefit road riders. Alpinestars was founded on the racing circuit.

Vests fall somewhere between fully equipped riding jackets and not wearing any torso protection.

Vests also make it simple to hide your riding gear, making them the ideal base layer to wear over thermal clothing, which is helpful for neo-retro riders concerned about fashion.

However, the Nucleon Flex vest from Alpinestars appears to take riding vest safety to the next level.

While most PPE Class A riding jackets come with protection for the spine, the Alpinestars Nucleon Flex vest has a slew of protectors that protect the rider’s entire torso. It has inserts on the chest and ribs that are shock-resistant in addition to the standard back protection.

The protective parts of the vest are made of a material called polymer, which is flexible and good at absorbing shock and impact.

This polymer material is enclosed in a mesh case on the back protector. On the chest protector, a two-piece assembly is hidden under the fabric.

The Nucleon Flex Pro is made of a stretchable textile fabric that provides excellent ventilation on the outside. The vest has reinforced padded areas on the sides and a long zipper in the middle, making it easy to wear and take off. Additionally, it has an elastic waistband for a snug fit.

As with most Alpinestars products, the Nucleon Flex Pro is quite expensive, costing 189.95 euros, or approximately $205. It comes in a single black color scheme and is available in sizes XS through XL.
