INDIA: Almond, the “King of Nuts” is a nutritional powerhouse full of healthy fats, fiber, phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals. Consuming a few almonds every day is highly recommended by doctors all over the world. 1 ounce of almonds contains one-eighth of a person’s daily protein needs and has a number of health benefits because of its high content of vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber and helps fight the onset of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.

Almonds are the oldest and most widely grown of all the world’s nut crops. These trees were amongst the earliest trees that people cultivated; the oldest domesticated almond tree dates back some 5,000 years.

Almost half of dry Almond’s weight is oil and is extracted by cold pressing methods. The oil is also extracted by grinding. The oil has a nutty aroma, is light in texture, and easily absorbs into the skin. The oil has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, or anti-carcinogenic properties that help wounds heal.

Almond oil has been hailed in Ayurveda for its wide spectrum of benefits and is listed as one of the best beauty elixirs for smooth skin and luscious hair. The Oil nourishes and improves skin complexion reviving its natural glow. Almond oil is widely used in Ayurveda for its therapies like Body Massage in Abhyangam, and also in Aromatherapy.
