Afghanistan Hands Over 39 Dead Bodies To Pakistan

AFGHANISTAN. Kabul: The dead bodies of 39 Pakistani civilians who were killed by Afghan National Defense Security forces were handed over to Pakistan, Fawad Aman, a spokesman for Afghan Defense Ministry said.

The Governor of Nangarhar, Ziaulhaq Amarkhil said that he has handed over bodies of 39 Pakistani militants to Afghanistan Red Crescent Society. “Pakistani militants were killed in d fighting by Afghan National Defense Security Forces. Anyone who comes to kill innocent Afghans, loot and kill, their dead bodies will be sent back,” Amarkhil said.

The Afghanistan Etilaatroz Newspaper reported that the Taliban is facing a shortage of fighters in Afghanistan following their rapid gains. Till now, there has been no response from the Taliban’s side.

Pakistan’s involvement

This week, Pakistani forces were seen on Afghanistan soil which spiked anger among many Afghans. The video shared on social media shows Pakistani forces crossed the Durand Line into the Afghan soil, by the ‘Nazar Security Post’, in the Spinboldak district of Kandahar province. The Taliban captured Spin Boldak weeks ago following the fall of other districts of Kandahar to them.

Pakistan has long been accused of sheltering and backing the Taliban by Afghan government officials.

The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Afghanistan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib recently warned that 10,000 Jihadi fighters are entering Afghanistan from Spin Boldak who will fight alongside the Taliban to destabilize the country amid this unprecedented territorial gains of the Taliban.

“Pakistan has deployed a group of militias to demolish development projects, especially those built by India. The militias have been ordered to destroy the projects funded and built by the Indian government in Afghanistan in recent years. Tariq Arian, spokesman for Interior Ministry said.

This week, Afghan forces foiled the Taliban attempts to demolish the Salma Dam in Chesht Sharif district of Herat, which was built by India, and waters the farms besides providing electricity. Two Taliban fighters were killed according to Interior Ministry.

Recently, Afghan security officials said they had received a warning message from Pakistan air forces not to advance their attacks toward the Spin Boldak in Pakistan border crossing for the retake. 

The tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan has seen a significant rise following the abduction of the daughter of the Afghanistan ambassador in Islamabad. The Afghan government recalled all of its diplomats and ambassador to Kabul till the Pakistani officials present them with justice.

A recent Pakistani diplomatic called Afghanistan an “enemy” following the visit of Afghanistan National Security Advisor with former Pakistan Prime Minister in the U.K.

Shehryar Afridi, Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir said, ”Birds of a feather flock together. Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with Afghan NSA proves his connections with Pakistan’s enemies. Again proved that Nawaz Sharif is a tool to be used against Pakistani interests. His statements on crucial issues already used by India at global forums.”

Pakistan National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf used the term “Kabul regime” in his tweet for the Afghanistan government, a term used by the Taliban for the Afghan government.

“Afghan NSA has used vitriolic and unacceptable language against Pakistan and our people. The meeting of Kabul regime officials with MNS in the UK is an attempt to further poison the atmosphere between the people of two countries, ” Yusuf tweeted.

“Pakistan has become a rogue nuclear state which can’t see a stable Afghanistan. Pakistan military has super alliances with terrorists. It should be declared a terrorist state, ” Rahmatullah Nabil former Director of National Security said.

The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said a week ago that Pakistani activists were celebrating the recent Taliban gains in Afghanistan which angered Afghans.

The Pakistan foreign ministry didn’t comment on the recent escalations.
