Colin Farrell will portray the villain in Reeves’ film, and he is anticipated to star in the new series as well, though no contract has been finalised. HBO Max remained tight-lipped about the development. Matt Reeves already announced another HBO prequel to The Batman, titled Gotham Central, which will take place a year before the events of the film.

The movie will continue to feature a horror element, which has previously been announced. The Riddler, played by Paul Dano, is a psycho killer who terrorises Gotham City with serial killings involving puzzles that raise social questions. As a result, the Dark Knight embarks on a mission to rescue Gotham from the clutches of the Riddler. While fending off the threat of Penguin thugs. This dark knight mythos, which includes Zoe Kravitz’s Cat Woman, might have a different effect on the Cape Crusader’s life.

Following the debut of the first trailer for The Batman, Reeves explained the timing at the DC FanDome conference last year, saying the film was set during “Year Two” of Bruce Wayne’s career as Batman, while the next TV series will be set during “Year One.”
