Amitabh Bachchan’s Classic Movies Re-released, Marking 80th Birthday Celebration

INDIA: Amitabh Bachchan fans, fasten your seat belts! The Bollywood Megastar’s timeless classic film arrived on big screens today. Film Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization, is screening iconic films to mark the 80th birthday celebration of Amitabh Bachchan from October 8, 2022, to October 11, 2022.

Don to Mili, classic films of Amitabh Bachchan now re-released in theatres

On October 2, 2022, Film Heritage Foundation tweeted, ‘’To celebrate the 80th birthday of the biggest icon of Indian cinema, FHF and @_PVRCinemas proud to present “Bachchan Back to the Beginning” – a blockbuster festival for the first time ever of 11 films of @SrBachchan from Oct 8 – 11, 2022 in 17 cities & 22 cinemas across India.’’

Shahenshah of Bollywood announced the news by tweeting, ‘’Back to the Beginning .. with the films from where my journey began in cinema .. Don and Mili nearly fifty years since they were released .. Now showing in Cinema .. Hoping to see more classics back on the big screen .. @shividungarpur @Fhf_Official.’’

Amitabh Bachchan also shared a poster featuring all his characters from classic films. The key visual provides a brief look showcasing the Bollywood Megastars in different roles. The picture reads, ‘’BACHCHAN BACK TO THE BEGINNING.’’

October 11, 2022, will mark Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday. Celebrating the special day, Film Heritage Foundation, along with PVR Cinemas, released all the classic 11 films of the Bollywood Megastar in 17 cities. 

As evident from the tweet, Bachchan Back to the Beginning is a blockbuster festival screening Don (1978), Chupke Chupke (1975), Satte Pe Satta (1982), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Deewaar (1975), Mili (1975), Namak Halaal (1982), Kaala Patthar (1979), Abhimaan (1973), Kaalia (1981), and Kabhi Kabhie (1976).

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan’s latest film, Goodbye, also debuted in theatres. The family drama also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. The Bollywood Megastar is also set to appear in Sooraj Barjatya’s directorial Uunchai. The movie will also feature Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, and Parineeti Chopra at the forefront.
