INDIA: Following today’s unveiling of Google’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the Google Pixel 7 series. This time around, Google will also send the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to India.
After the Pixel 3 series in 2018, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be the first Google flagship devices to be released in the country.
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro’s prices and specifications have leaked on numerous occasions.
Expected specifications
Google Pixel 7: There have been numerous leaks of the Google Pixel 7’s specifications, including a 6.3-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, as well as an 8GB RAM and a Google Tensor G2 CPU.
A 50-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens are rumoured to be included in the Pixel 7’s dual rear camera arrangement. The Pixel 7 might have an 11-megapixel selfie camera up front.
According to reports, the smartphone has a 4,700mAh battery that supports 30W rapid charging. Furthermore, Google’s Titan security chip will be included with the Pixel 7.
Google Pixel 7 Pro: In contrast, the Pixel 7 Pro is rumoured to have a 6.7-inch LTPO display with a QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Additionally, the Pixel 7 Pro will have 12GB of RAM and Google’s Tensor G2 Engine.
The Google Pixel 7 Pro’s triple rear camera is expected to have three lenses: a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens. The Pixel 7 Pro will also include an 11-megapixel selfie camera up front.
The Pixel 7 Pro is believed to have a 5,000mAh battery with the same 30W fast charging. Furthermore, Google’s Titan security chip will be included with the Pixel 7 Pro.
Expected Pricing
Google Pixel 7: A previously leaked Amazon listing said that the base 128GB storage model of the Pixel 7 will cost $599.99.
Now, while $599.99 is approximately Rs 48,900 by direct conversion, we estimate that the Pixel 7 would cost more than Rs 55,000 in India after accounting for import fees and taxes.
Google Pixel 7 Pro: On the other hand, the Pixel 7 Pro is anticipated to go on sale for the same price as the Pixel 6 Pro, starting at $899. This equates to approximately Rs 73,300 in direct conversion.
However, taking import fees and taxes into account, the Pixel 7 Pro is anticipated to go on sale in India for about Rs 80,000.
