Oriol Paulo’s Los Renglones Torcidos De Dios Hints at an Intriguing Thriller Notion

SPAIN: Oriol Paulo’s Los renglones torcidos de Dios (God’s Crooked Lines) is just one month away from its release. The makers dropped a new poster and trailer ahead of the Spanish film’s debut, building the hype for the upcoming feature.

The psychological thriller film is set to release on October 7, 2022. The movie will also be screened at 70th San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Warner Bros. Pictures España unveiled the new poster of the film on Twitter. The key visual featured Bárbara Lennie, Eduard Fernández and Loreto Mauleón in intriguing look.  

Oriol Paulo’s directorial Los renglones torcidos de Dios emerges as the much-awaited film. The talented Spanish filmmaker is widely known for The Invisible Guest (2016), El cuerpo (The Body 2012), Mirage (2018), and The Innocent (2021). Given the critically acclaimed movies and series, the upcoming film can be termed the much-anticipated film among fans.

The Spanish psychological thriller stars Bárbara Lennie at the forefront. Eduard Fernández, Loreto Mauleón, Javier Beltrán, Pablo Derqui, Fede Aguado, and Adelfa Calvo also stars in pivotal roles.

Los renglones torcidos de Dios focuses on Alice Gould (Bárbara Lennie), who is held in a psychiatric hospital and acknowledges herself as a private investigator looking into a murder case.

In addition to directing Los renglones torcidos de Dios, Oriol Paulo penned the story along with Guillem Clua. The psychological film is based on Torcuato Luca de Tena’s bestselling 1979 novel of the same name. However, this isn’t the first time Torcuato Luca de Tena’s novel has been adapted into a movie. Earlier, Tulio Demicheli directed Los renglones torcidos de Dios (1983) starring Lucía Méndez in the lead role.

Nostromo Pictures, Atresmedia Cine, and Filmayer bankrolled Los Renglones Torcidos De Dios. Warner Bros. Pictures España distributed the psychological thriller film. Bernat Bosch handled the cinematography, and Fernando Velázquez, known for The Impossible and The Orphanage, composed the music for the upcoming feature.
