INDIA: Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, offered Uttar Pradesh’s deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya the position of chief minister in exchange for him bringing him 100 MLAs. The minister of UP hits back at Yadav by saying, “Without power, Akhilesh Yadav is desperate. He is like fish without water. The Samajwadi Party has become the ‘Samaptwadi’ party.”
The deputy minister Keshav Maurya lashed out at the SP chief, saying, “Their 100 MLAs are ready to join the BJP. We don’t need to break the party because our government is functioning effectively with an absolute majority… He does not want any leader from backward classes to move ahead and rule by causing divisions. His desire to come to power will not be fulfilled in the next 25 years.”
During the ongoing verbal clash, the state BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary raised concern for Yadav and advised him by saying, “Akhilesh Yadav should worry about his alliance, his family, his party, and his MLAs as his legislators are in touch with us.” In a Tweet, Chaudhary wrote, “Keshavji is a proven worker of the organisation and dedicated to the BJP’s ideology. He will always be with us; he is not a selfish person. He will control Akhilesh Yadav; he (Yadav) won’t be able to control him.”
Meanwhile, Maurya said, “Akhilesh Yadav been behaving like a fish without water ever since he was thrown out of power.” He alleged, “His 100 MLAs are ready to join the BJP, but we don’t need to break his party because our government is running smoothly with a full majority.”
Maurya even claimed Yadav, an attention seeker, added, “He is making such absurd comments to remain in the news. Akhilesh Yadav is not my well-wisher but is against the BJP and backwards.”
