Filmfare Awards 2022: Shershaah, Sardar Udham, Mimi, and 83 Gained the Spotlight

INDIA: The 67th Filmfare Award Ceremony, held on August 30, 2022, praised the best film released in 2021. Several actors, directors, artists, and technicians were awarded for their significant contributions to the film industry.

The Filmfare Awards had previously been postponed due to the pandemic, but the award ceremony finally began with grandeur and glitter. Many Hindi-language films garnered prestigious awards, including Mimi, Shershaah, Sardar Udham, and 83.

The following are winners of the Filmfare Awards 2022

Best Actor and Actress:

  • Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor Award for his role as Indian former cricketer Kapil Dev in ‘’83’’.
  • Kriti Sanon received the Best Actress Award for her brilliant performance in ‘’Mimi’’. 

Best Supporting Actor and Actress:

  • Pankaj Tripathi achieved the Best Supporting Actor Award for ‘’Mimi’’. 
  • Sai Tamhankar received the Best Supporting Actress Award for ‘’Mimi’’. 

Best film and director:

  • ‘’Shershaah’’ won the Best Film Award.
  • Vishnuvardhan also bagged the Best Director Award for ‘’Shershaah’’.

Critics’ Awards:

  • Vicky Kaushal received the Best Actor Award in the Critic’s Choice category for “Sardar Udham”.
  • Shoojit Sircar also won the Best Director Award in the Critics’ Choice category for ‘’Sardar Udham’’.
  • Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actress Award in the Critics’ Choice category for ‘’Sherni’’.

The veteran director Subhash Ghai also received a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award. The award ceremony also presented the Debut Award, which included: Seema Pahwa (Best Director for Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi), Sharvari Wagh (Best Female Debut for Bunty Aur Bali 2), and Ehan Bhat (Best Male Debut for 99 Songs).

Shershaah emerged as a highly successful film released in 2021. The Vishnuvardhan-directed film took home seven awards in prestigious categories. In addition to Best Film and Director, the movie also dominated the Music Award category. The film won Best Music Director (Tanishk Bagchi, B Praak, Javed-Mohsin, Jaani, Jasleen Royal, and Vikram Montrose) and Best Playback Singer (B Praak and Asees Kaur).

Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham also won numerous awards. The film bagged Best Screenplay (Shubendu Bhattacharya and Ritesh Shah), Best Special Effects (VFXwaala), Best Costume Design (Veera Kapur Ee), and many more awards in prominent categories.
