UNITED STATES: The fusion of action and comedy in any Hollywood movie may seem tedious. Still, Brad Pitt’s brilliant acting prowess and David Leitch’s directorial vision transform the same old notion into a pleasant and exciting journey that sums up the full hit recipe of Bullet Train.

Bullet Train is based on Kōtarō Isaka’s Japanese novel Maria Bitoru (Maria Beetle). Brad Pitt plays assassin “Ladybug,” who is hired to retrieve the suitcase on the world’s fastest train. Fate has crafted a devious strategy on his behalf that involves the deadliest killers in his seemingly effortless mission. Ladybug succeeds in his journey or falls victim to his misfortune forms the crux of the story.

David Leitch joins the director’s chair while starring Brad Pitt in the lead. Sandra Bullock, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, Zazie Beetz, Karen Fukuhara, and Michael Shannon round up the ensemble in pivotal roles.

The spectacular action sequences and humour balance the Bullet Train on the perfect track

Brad Pitt plays the primary character, which is an excellent component of the film; battling with swords or gunfights brings out the best in the skilled Hollywood celebrity. Even though the film features a multi-star cast, each actor’s screen presence provides their fullest performance level, which balances action and emotions.

David Leitch’s vision also shines brightly, with prior ventures such as Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw, and Atomic Blonde proving his command of the action-comedy genre. The filmmaker’s electrifying touch adds another distinctive film to his repertory. Zak Olkewicz’s screenplay and Jonathan Sela’s colourful cinematography also act as a catalyst that increases the entertaining value of the feature.

The movie lives up to its name with a bullet-speed run that hooks you with its fast-paced action elements. Brad Pitt’s character succeeds in flawless and surreal combat sequences that serve as top-tier R-rated moments which lend depth to the plot. Given the excellent choreography, all of the action scenes stand out.

The film’s storyline also speaks volumes, with a seemingly simpler premise interwoven with various subplots of each character. The entire phenomenon is a blend of fun and amusement that keeps you glued to your seat and piques your interest in each scenario.

The climax sometimes becomes a little predictable, and astute viewers may guess the film’s finishing recipe. The humour in a few sequences becomes repetitious, which looks like the feature’s dragging force.

Verdict:

The action-thriller starring Brad Pitt is a wonderful balance of R-rated components and humorous punches that provide complete honour to its genre.
