INDIA. Mumbai: The Dhadak actor gets into the skin of the role and manages to pull herself into the role of a drug smuggler. The upcoming movie trailer of Good Luck Jerry features Janhvi in the lead role. The trailer shows two sides of Janhvi, an innocent girl from Bihar and a girl who smuggles drugs from Punjab.
The Sidharth Sengupta directorial dark comedy will be released in Disney+ Hotstar on July 29. The movie aims to entertain audiences with comedy, crime, and suspense. The minute-50-second trailer is a non-stop bonanza of half-baked punchlines mixed with dark comedic twists.
The trailer shows Janhvi as a decently convincing character of a young woman, who has apparently lived all her life in Bihar and is now in Punjab to earn her livelihood.
The movie is the remake of a popular Tamil film Kolamavu Kokila. Janhvi’s character in the movie is named Jaya Kumari. As soon as the trailer dropped, fans died out of laughter. It is a mixture of “pun and fun”.
Janhvi has never taken up a role like this before but now she is more into content-oriented films. Janvi Kapoor expressed that her experience in the movie, “Good Luck Jerry has been an exciting experience as it allowed me to explore a unique genre. Siddharth has been a catalyst in truly bringing out the Jerry in me! Working with Aanand L Rai was an enriching experience. To be a part of this film – has been a dream come true. I am excited for it to be released on Disney+ Hotstar. As an actor, it allows me to ensure my work reaches a larger diaspora.”
Talking about Kapoor’s upcoming projects, she is currently shooting for her new movie Bawaal with Varun Dhawan in Europe. The movie is being helmed by Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari. The movie also has Mr and Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao, the co-actors of Janhvi in her last movie Roohi.
