Transcontinental Times Appoints Ishita Chakraborty as the New Editor-in-Chief

INDIA/SPAIN: Transcontinental Times has announced that its board of directors has appointed Ishita Chakraborty as its new Editor-in-Chief. Currently based in India, Ishita is a Computer Science Engineer who has a passion for writing.

In her new role, Ishita will lead the editorial team of Transcontinental Times and will work closely with the business and leadership teams to ensure that the news media grows significantly and profitably. In the past two years, she has particularly reported on politics, the LGBTQ+ community, women’s empowerment, and other social issues. For her humanitarian work and contribution to journalism, she was also interviewed by iwmbuzz.

Since a young age, Ishita has been working on various programs organized by the United Nations (UN) as a youth volunteer for empowering education and women across the world through various programs. She is also leading an international GirlUp club ( GirlUp International: Women Online) that focuses on the SDGs set by the United Nations. Along with humanitarian works and journalism, she has a great inclination toward sports. Ishita has represented Vidarbha Cricket Association in U-19 state-level cricket matches.

Talking about her new role Ishita says, “Leading a channel that has already set a very high benchmark is always a challenge. To lead the best team of journalists in the business is just amazing. I look forward to taking on this mantle and hope to help Transcontinental Times achieve its objectives.”

Transcontinental Times is a digital newspaper established in Madrid, Spain. An Indian-Spanish writer, entrepreneur, and award-winning filmmaker, known for his short films and non-fiction books, Roshan Bhondekar, founded the news media with his life partner Dr. Sahra Ardah in June 2020.
