UNITED STATES: Elon Musk has responded to the ongoing defamation case involving his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. Amber Heard dated Musk for a year before splitting up. During the trial, the Tesla CEO’s name was also mentioned.

Depp was questioned about a text message he sent to his former talent agent Christian Carinno about Musk. The actor mentioned Heard and Musk’s affair in the text.

While Musk has not addressed this aspect of the trial, he has expressed his hope that both actors move on. Musk made the statement in reply to a tweet that summarised the facts of the case.

A Twitter user, Lex Fridman, tweeted, “My takeaways from Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial: 1. Fame is one hell of a drug (for some). 2. Psychiatrists & lawyers come in drastically varying levels of skill. 3. Lying to millions of people is something humans are capable of. 4. Love can be messy. 5. Mega pint of wine.”

Replying to the tweet, Elon Musk said, “I hope they both move on. At their best, they are each incredible.”

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard dated before getting married in 2015. Their marriage, however, ended in 2017. Heard wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post in 2018 alleging domestic abuse after the divorce.

Although Depp’s name was not mentioned, the op-aftermath resulted in Depp losing acting roles. He was famously fired from his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. In response, Heard counter-sued him for $100 million.

The trial has been televised, and several details about their relationship have made headlines. The trial has sparked widespread public interest, with video clips of the proceedings going viral on social media.
